Zenn's Quest for Candy & Car

--Story--
Some time after our Heroine’s destructive jailbreak (and somehow convincing the court that it was an accident), Zenn and Olivia are now found relaxing at home on a late Halloween night. While reminiscing about their great escape, Zenn realizes she never got their car back from the impound lot!
Now Zenn must scour the neighborhood to find a way to pay off the immense storage fees! Luckily for her, she has access to a number of costumes with special abilities and a neighborhood full of people willing to assist in your quest (for the right amount of candy of course).

The game was very good, the character designs, the dialogue, story, the gameplay, amazing. But cloud i ask something? wich ending is the True one? As there is no indication wich one is the True one, thought i think it's the one for completing every quest and getting all candy, i am not sure.
The last ending is 100% the true ending. Though I might keep it ambiguous as to which path in that ending is the cannon one.
Hello. I believe I have softlocked myself. The only quest remaining is "Get 150 candy for Amelia", however, I only have 79 candy and the compass from the explorer's outfit doesn't point anywhere. I also completed "Help Kim with her upset stomach" right beforehand, after already helping Flint out. When interacting with Kim, the ending dialogue for those two is all that appears, locking me out of whatever reward (Presumably 75 candy) Kim would have given me.
I think the game is incredibly charming and I do wish I was not having this issue. The pumpkin on the seesaw was clever.
That is a bug caused by how the game saved once an ending was triggered. There are steps in the v1.3 dev log to help fix your issue.
Thank you. I was wondering if there was a way to edit the candy values manually but I'm not savvy enough myself to figure it out. I also do think that the options on-screen once you get to the repo building are unclear. I accidentally ended the game because I did not know what to press/what option was selected. Luckily, pressing "Continue" allows you to avoid this, but it was still worrying at the time, as I thought I had lost an hour or two of progress.
Edit: It would seem that I have no idea how to load a .tres file even though I installed the Godot engine.
You can right click it and open it with any text editor (like notepad)
Oh. That was very simple. Thank you. I cannot wait to see what you make in the future! The 3D movement on display is very smooth. The only thing I'd add is some form of airtime to make crossing the river slightly more lenient but otherwise traversing the world is fun. I especially loved the forest.
I finished the game when it first released sure it was confusing to figure out what to do but still was absolutely fun hopefully we can get more games/stories about Zenn and Oliva and all the other characters. while of course more from the creator in the future.
I didn't expect a sequel to your last game but it was really fun and a huge improvement from the previous. Zenn's little freakout about Olivia's marriage comment was freaking adorable too (foreshadowing maybe?)
Honestly, the game was brilliant. I did not get softlocked a single time, and although some of the candy were hard to find, the game as a whole was amazing. The final costume, all the endings, the characters, the graphics... Congratulations on such an amazing piece of art, and I (as well as others, I'd assume) am looking forward to your next game!
were you able to get kims dialogue to work for the all candy extra quest? for me I walk up press e and nothing happens
That's because I accidentally broke the game. I uploaded the new version with the fix.
i liked the game but i want to address some issues:
1. i dont know what happened but i completed the game, got normal ending and closed it. when i came back to presumably find better endings my save got deleted.
2. not issue but i feel the beginning is pretty confusing because there is so many candy you cant reach with your absence of higher jump. kinda wanted to get the costume sooner or make it more obvious that you must talk to that guy, bring him candy and so on. also i would slightly boost the speed of a char because related costume is very very far into the game.

What did you do to get soft locked?
i started new game with all items and to waste minimum candy i went straight to npcs that give money. first i jumped across the river, talked to furries, got 1000$ from that guy, talked to pumpkin, got paint and when i got to the forest i cracked that rock but there was no ring. Zenn just said something like "i totally cracked this rock! now what?". In active quests list "find ring" were orange still and when i talked to furries they said "did you find the ring?"
then i started new new game and went straight to furries but the rock still empty. then I started new new new game and all my items except bride one were locked.
Whoops, you're not suppose to keep your costumes if you pressed new game. I'll go ahead and fix that.
Talking to Charles first without completing Wilson's quest breaks their questline.
oh, ok. but you can get good ending even without costumes. right?
i thought if max number of candy you can get is 666 then this gotta be the key to secret ending
you can easily get soft locked if you give the candy to the wrong NPC
There is enough candy in the first area to complete all the available quests, but it is definitely more difficult depending on who you help first.
playing it the first without any help or knowledge about the game make me thing there isn't any candy left in the first part and the money part dose not make any sense the main character say "i need 30$ to pay this" but i have MORE then 30$ like idk what i had before i think it's more like, one one 40$ so that's more then enough to pay it off but no i had to get little more money to pay that off
I'll make some adjustments.
For the money, it was suppose to imply that you need an additional $30 to what you already have. So I will update the dialogue as well.
also add a skip button to cut scenes and dialogue i have already seen them i dont want to see them again

1. I'll try and fix the linux version when I can.
2. There is a way to get the candy to appear. Try investigating the playground. Also, I will take care of the interaction issue. You did complete their story, it's just a visual bug.
